QUALITY & DOCUMENTATION
Know the material.
Understand the documents.
Clear specifications and relevant documentation help your team evaluate a sourcing proposal. We coordinate the questions that connect the product, supplier and batch.
Three starting points for a useful review
Confirm the identity
Use the full product name, CAS where applicable, physical form and intended business use. Salt forms, hydrates and grades can differ, so a familiar name alone is not enough to define a requirement.
Define the specification
Share the required standard and edition, test methods and acceptance criteria. Where you have an internal specification, include the relevant parameters so differences can be identified before commercial terms are agreed.
Match the document scope
Check that the document refers to the material and source being discussed. A sample document supports an initial review; a batch-specific record relates to the batch stated on that record.
Documents to discuss with your supplier
Product specification
Sets out the agreed product requirements and acceptance criteria. Confirm the applicable version, material form, stated standard and any product-specific parameters your team needs to evaluate.
Safety Data Sheet / SDS
Provides the supplier’s safety, handling and storage information for the stated material. Request the relevant current version and language for your team and destination.
Certificate of Analysis / COA
Reports the information and results stated by its issuer for an identified sample or batch. Confirm the product identity, batch reference, test items, methods and results needed for your review.
Supplier & regulatory information
Additional records may be requested where relevant to the material and intended market. Availability, authorization to share and the document’s holder and scope are confirmed individually.
A simple document review workflow
Send your list. Identify the material and documents required by your purchasing or technical team.
Clarify the source. Confirm the supplier identity and the product or batch covered by the information.
Review the details. Compare the available documents with your specification and flag missing or inconsistent information.
Close the open questions. Request clarification and confirm the applicable specification and supply scope before proceeding.
What helps us answer a document request?
Include the product name, required grade or form, destination, document list and any specific parameter your team needs to confirm. For an existing purchase or sample, include the relevant batch reference if available.
Document availability varies by material and supplier. A catalogue image or listing is an introduction to the product; the applicable specification and batch information are confirmed in the sourcing discussion.
